"It was so clean I was very impressed. Not much decor. Service was excellent and food was great. I had steak bites and garlic potatoes. We had the shrimp appetizer. The owner stopped at our table to get our opinion on the food. He had a good sense of humor"

"I love this place. We just had their fish sandwich for Lent and it was awesome. But most of all, the owners are great. I am so glad to see that they are knocking it out of the park."

"My husband and I tried Sweetwater Tavern this past Friday for their Lenten fish fry. I highly recommend everyone try this fish. The breading was crispy and flavorful , yet the fish was still moist and flaky. It’s not easy to get crispy fish that isn’t overdone. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and even recommended a new beer for me to try that suited my taste perfectly. One of the owners even came over to speak with us and check on our experience. She was so nice. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy and stylish. We will definitely go back soon. There are some brussels sprouts on the menu I’m dying to try!"

"We have dined in the restaurant numerous times (always a great experience) but this was our first takeout experience. We ordered takeout Fish Fry last night and it was amazing! They offered eggplant parm and chicken tenders for those who do not love fish or shrimp. Portions are big! The service is great, the staff is friendly, and the owners are wonderful!"

"My husband and I went to Sweetwater Tavern last night for dinner. We absolutely loved the hometown feel of the place and even more they treat you like family. I had the fish sandwich dinner … now mind you .. I’m not a fish person! Was the best fish I ever had, perfectly cooked, and the size was big enough to share (but I didn’t) because was so good! My sides were favorites of mine - Mac n cheese (excellent) and homemade coleslaw which I loved. You know that can be “iffy”! One of the best I’ve had. My husband had pierogis with halushki … I did steal some and it was sooooo good. Also great portions! And don’t let me forget about the clam chowder soup … I could have eaten the whole pot .. it was so good! Bottom line … if you want a hometown feel with great service and amazing food … this is your place! We will definitely be back!"

"Six of us stopped by the Sweetwater Tavern for our first visit tonight since Joe and Jodi Vas purchased the restaurant in August - it was a great experience. The food was great and the menu had something for everyone, and even with a few server call-offs, the attention to our table was top notch. Mr. and Mrs. Vas were incredibly warm and welcoming - stopping by our table to thank us for coming. You can feel the pride they're putting into growing this place and the effort they're making in creating a spot where friends can come together, relax and enjoy a good meal or drink and feel right at home. We will absolutely be back and if tonight was any indication, Sweetwater is on its way to becoming a local favorite. Their good food is only exceeded by the genuine kindness and appreciation they show to all who visit."

"The Pittsburgh Fish sandwich was the best fish sandwich I’ve ever eaten. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first. I don’t normally like all of those toppings on my sandwich ( or any sandwich for that matter). This was INCREDIBLE! Step outside of your usual plain fish and Tatar sauce sandwich and experience this culinary plot twist. You won’t be disappointed."

"Stopped in for our fist Lenten fish fry of the year and couldn’t have had a better experience. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the service was great, and the food was tremendous. Th fish sandwich was the best I’ve had in years, and we will for sure be back soon. A great hidden gem."
